Description
The people, places, and events that bring joy to life, are what inspire Tessa Stanley to paint. As an avid hiker and lover of the outdoors, landscape paintings currently dominate her work. However, she also enjoys painting the everyday people and places she encounters. The theme of this exhibition is one of appreciation for the beauty of the everyday things around us. How the light hits an object, or how a particular colour seems to flow. There is beauty in an alleyway or an apple, not just an amazing mountain vista. Tessa creates art in the hopes that it helps others to see some of the warmth and feel some of the excitement that she saw or felt when she was inspired to paint an object. Having worked with children and adults with disabilities for several years, Tessa discovered her passion for art while taking some ‘fun’ night classes. She switched careers and completed a Fine Arts diploma. She now works part-time at the Art Gallery of St. Albert teaching children’s classes and paints whenever she can. Tessa is a recent Fernie wanna-be, finding the beautiful surroundings and outdoor lifestyle the perfect place for inspiration.
