About Us

Fernie Distillers are the newest addition to the food and beverage industry in Fernie, B.C. Centrally located on 1st Ave and right next door to Branch 36 of the Canadian Legion, the distillery is officially open for tastings, tours and delicious cocktails.

The distillery is owned and operated by Jillian Rutherford and Andrew Hayden. Rutherford is one of few female distillers in Canada, and Hayden has extensive experience working with global beverage brands and consumer packaged goods.

Their regular product line consists of No. 9 Mine Vodka, Fernie Fog Liqueur and Prospector Gin. All are named with a nod to Fernie’s mining and rail history. Check in with them for occasional limited Seasonal releases such as 5th& Park Damson Gin, ready in May 2019.

Visitors to the distillery can learn about the distilling process direct from the team that makes the product and enjoy signature cocktails by the bar, or on the patio. Product and merchandise are available for purchase onsite, along with a seasonally crafted cocktail list and delicious bites prepared by Fernie Catering Co.
